‘To see a world in a grain of sand
And Heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour’

William Blake

Based out of my Albany studio, my drawings are inspired by the natural beauty found all around our property. Each picture begins with an outline sketch of the subject and then the colour is added. I draw with coloured and aquarelle pencils but also use watercolour paints and ink. When working with coloured pencils it is often necessary to apply many layers of colour to achieve the intensity and detail required in the finished artwork. As a result, each piece can take many hours, days or even weeks to complete.

I studied Fine Arts and English as part of a teaching degree, but family and career commitments left little time for pursuing artistic interests. For many years the creative spark lay dormant! Eventually I retired from work as a teacher in order to devote more time to my family, spirituality, writing and drawing.

I’m blessed to live in beautiful surroundings, filled with natural wonders and truly touched by Heaven! I hope the spiritual experiences woven into my stories and drawings will be a source of encouragement for many others as they seek to deepen their relationship with God.
